第二节 写作
One Possible Version
Dear Mrs Jenkins,
I’m Li Hua, a student of Mick’s class. I’m extremely sorry to tell you Mick is in hospital. On August 10, some classmates and I invited Mick to take a bike trip. On the way back, he fell off his bike carelessly and had his leg broken. Immediately we took him to our local best hospital. After a CT scan, the doctor said his leg injury was a bit serious and that he had to be treated for over a month.
Fortunately, he has the insurance to cover the medical costs. Please don’t worry about him since we are taking good care of him every day.

Text 1
W: Hello! How can I help you?
M: I’m interested in buying a membership card.
W: That’s great! How did you hear about our club?
M: A friend of mine has a membership with you.
Text 2
M: Good morning. I bought this camera here just a week ago, and I just found that it isn’t what I
really want. I want to return it.
W: Was this product on sale when you bought it?
M: Yes. It was.
W: I’m sorry, sir. We don’t return products on sale.
Text 3
M: The guide book says this is a very windy place, but there’s completely no wind now.
W: I hope it’ll be sunny.
M: There is too much cloud. The sun isn’t shining at all.
Text 4
W: Can I help you?
M: Yes, I just came back from London on a long flight, and I’m having trouble sleeping.
W: We have several sleeping pills. Take it before you go to bed.
Text 5
M: Guess what! Someone stole my wallet last night!
W: Oh, what happened?
M: Well, I was doing sports in the club, and I had put my things in the cupboard. But I’d
    forgotten to lock the cupboard.
Text 6
M: I need to rent an outdoor tent. It must be big enough for four people.
W: Then you’ll need our large tent. It runs 50 dollars per day. But, for an extra 10 dollars, you
can reserve our extra large tent. It will offer some additional standing room space.
M: I think that’s exactly what I need.
W: Great. Also, if you reserve a tent one month in advance, you can get a 10% discount.
M: Great! We happen to have the camping trip in a month.
Text 7
M: I’m fed up with this miserable town, aren’t you? There’s never anything to do here at the
   weekend.
W: Why don’t we go and stay with your cousins in the country?
M: In the country! My goodness, that would be even more boring than staying in town. What on
earth is there to do in the country?
W: Well, we could go for walks, and watch birds, and…
M: Oh do be quiet! I feel more bored than ever just thinking about it. Let’s go down to the pub.

W: Good morning, Travel Link. How can I help you?
M: Good morning. I live in Bayswater and I’d like to take a train to Harbor City tomorrow
   before 11 a.m.
W: Well, if you catch a railway express, that’ll get you there in under an hour … Let’s see —
yes, if you catch the 9:30 a.m. railway express, you can get there in time.
M: Which station does that leave from?
W: Helendale is the nearest train station to you.
M: How can I get to the Helendale station then?
W: If you don’t mind walking a couple of kilometers, you can go directly to Central Park and get
straight on the 792 bus going to the train station.
M: I guess the walk will be good for me.
Text 9
M: Good morning, Rose. Have a seat.
W: Good morning. Thank you.
M: I have your application here somewhere. And you hope to enter our university next fall?
W: Yes, sir, if I can make it.
M: Fine, I notice that you finished high school a year ago. Why didn’t you enter college that
   year?
W: Well, I have a sister in college now. And there is another one who’ll be going next year. So I
had to earn a little money to help pay my way.
M: Good. It sounds as if you’re a pretty responsible girl. What do you want to major in ?
W: I want to major in biology. That was my best subject in high school. I’m really interested in it.
M: That sounds fine, Rose. Have you discussed this with your teachers and your parents?
W: Oh, sure. My science teacher thinks that’s what I ought to go into. And my parents say I
   should make my own choice.
M: Fine. I’ll hold your application until we get your report card. When we’ve seen it we’ll let
you know. Probably in about two weeks.
W: Thank you very much, sir, Goodbye.
Text 10
During my first year in China, I spent the summer holidays with my family at the seaside in Beidaihe. The hotel that we were staying in was very near the sea, so we used to spend most of our time swimming. Now, my wife is from Switzerland and when she was at home, she bought me a watch as a present. The watch she bought was waterproof and I never took it off, even when I was having a bath. When I went swimming at Beidaihe, I didn’t take my watch off either. On the last day of our holidays I went swimming and came out of the sea without my watch. As I was leaving, the manager of the hotel said, “Leave your address and phone number so that we can send your watch to you if we can find it.” I did so but I wasn’t very hopeful. One week later, I got a phone call from the hotel. The man who found my watch was a PLA man. He picked it up when he was out walking on the beach one day and handed it in at police station. Threes days later, I got my watch back and it was still working.
